This image reveals the need for a mechanical robot to be brought in to raise up a 400 lb. pane of glass to the second story of the Jaffe remodel. Time and patience and a light touch was required. The install was a complete success!

Using a steel portal frame allows us to maximize the view and withstand all of the wind and seismic engineering requirements. Another well thought out design from Carpenter Architects.

“A HIDDEN STEEL FRAME SUPPORTS THE FLOATING ELEMENTS OF THE HOUSE”. The Architect chose real stone, painted and galvanized metal and stained cedar siding for the exterior finishes. A Large portion of the cedar we milled for the siding is old growth western red cedar that was reclaimed from an old trestle near Stevens pass.”
